As promised, below is the video explaining how to set the overtravel screw on a Sig P226.
Required Tools/Supplies: 2mm Allen Key, Purple Loctite, Headlamp (Optional)
Steps: (1) Clear and field strip the weapon; (2) Use 2mm Allen wrench to remove screw and apply purple Loctite. I used a headlamp to better see the screw and a Q-Tip to apply the Loctite. A toothpick would also work; (3) Use 2mm Allen wrench to reinsert the screw; (4) Tighten screw by turning it clockwise with the Allen wrench until the hammer will not drop; (5) With the trigger pressed, turn the screw the other way (counterclockwise) until the trigger drops. (6) Then turn the screw one additional quarter turn counterclockwise; and (7) Reassemble weapon.
Notes: I was required to figure this out because my set screw came loose and lodged between the trigger and the pistol frame while dry firing. If you carry the weapon for duty I would recommend calendaring a date annually to check the screw (maybe the same date you change the batteries on all of your red dots).
